Thanks for writing. In answer to your question- no I haven't. A few
strange dreams maybe, but that's pretty much the extent of it. I
appreciate that you took the time to look at my site. I don't seem to
be able to donate as much time to it as I'd like to. Every summer I try to spend as much time outside as possible & I need to use as much of my internet time trying to make some money :) Thanks for the compliment on my family, BTW. I realized long ago that family is the most important thing.

I have been reading and contemplating this subject for decades! I have a limited "working understanding" of Quantum Physics.
Fascinating! Some years back, sitting in my car, taking a break, I drew a diagramme to help me visualise the problems associated with time travel. I came to the same conclusion as you. I still have my diagramme.
However, I went a step further in my "thought experiments":
1. It is 2003. I travel into the future, say 2103. I CAN return back to 2003 with knowledge of 2103 HOWEVER
2. MY future ino 2103 will NEVER, CAN NEVER be the one I experienced on my journey. It will always be different. Just as you pointed it out.
3. It is 2003. I travel back, let's say to 1950.
4. It is 1950, which may hold, in accordance to your example, a copy of me but clearly not my "real" self, as you already have stated.
5. This journey WILL BE a permanent departure fom MY time and WORLD because
6. On my return to 2003 I will find a strange/different and bewildering "presence", a presence that has never known me, where I have never existed.
7. For people left behind in 2003 I just never returned from my trip. Only record kept is that of my departure to 1950.
8. People I meet on my return in 2003 have never heard of me. No records point to my departure to 1950.
I concluded from that:
1.It is harmless but inconclusive to travel into the future and gather information. Predictions of the "future" therefore CANNOT exist.
2.You will only get a "one way" ticket if you travel into the past. And it cannot be your OWN past, otherwise you could be exposed to the paradox. Therefore you cannot return again to your own world.
Well, that's it. Let me know, where I've been wrong.

First, I can't say where your thinking is wrong as we're all just speculating only. There are people who claim to be timetravelers. I don't believe that there are timetravelers in this timeline. Even if there were, they would have to be intelligent enough to maintain a low profile. Mostly, I see children posting on fringe sites on the WWW telling their tall tales of a fantastic future and basically having fun. Most of them eventually are weeded out as frauds. Their own tales are usually their undoing as they get caught in conflicting statements and then can't wiggle out. Even the net-famous John Titor made the mistake of posting up pictures which eventually was his undoing (he disappeared). The only thing that I can see is that you talk subjectively, but speak of how the world reacts to you upon your "return". I don't know how to explain that it wouldn't matter. You "return" to 2003 at the exact same instant you left for example. Everything is the same. Also, if you timetraveled to 1950 from 2003, IT ALREADY HAPPENED. Unrecognizable present? POSSIBLY. But remember, IT DOESN'T MATTER! You're the only one that will ever know. Don't like it? Change it! It's that simple. This was part of my early wondering in my essay example. Is it "set in stone" (so to speak)?. Forget linear time-forget causality. This will beat down the Grandfather Paradox, The Free Lunch Paradox, etc.,. I think that your thinking is almost right, actually & I appreciate each and everyone's thoughts!
